Hobson City 117th Founder’s Day Celebration

Dear Sponsors and Friends:

The Town of Hobson City is planning our 117th Founder’s Day Celebration. Hobson City is one of American’s most representative historic Black towns. Our mission is to protect and preserve for future generations the heritage, history and cultural traditions of Hobson City and to become a tourist destination.

We believe our membership in the Historical Black Towns and Settlement Alliance; our partnership with the Center for the Study of the American South with the University of North Carolina at Chapel and collaborative work with the University of Alabama has positioned us to accomplish our mission. The Historical Black Towns and Settlements Alliance (HBTSA) represents five historically black cities that organized to work collaboratively to pursue our vision and mission individually and collectively.
